When my father-in-law passed away, I was explaining to my three year old that his grandfather had died of a heart attack. This would mean we wouldn't be able to see him anymore and that he was now up in heaven with God. With the most innocent voice he looked at me with his eyes very wide and said..."God's dead?" I never imagined that while he was in Sunday School learning about God and Jesus he was not understanding that God and Jesus was dead. He just new that they were people he was learning about. My little three year old in now 22 and this is one of my most fondest memories of him growing up.
