In Style
When I think of the month of March, the season of spring pops up and I start thinking about shedding my winter clothes for lighter, more "freeing" clothes! Yes, it's still about the clothes! I am a clothes horse!. It's been a "vice" of mine since I was a child!

I did check some of my favorite stores and it seems the top fashion trends this season include any kind of boyfriend jean, floral dresses, jumpsuits and utility jackets.
Footwear is also big this season - literally! Remember platform shoes? They're baccck! "Fashion must-haves" (according to the people designing and selling) and they’re hoping you'll do a lot of buying!
I have to admit, I have been a slave to "clothes for the moment" over the years. In fact, I'm as guilty as the next person, often choosing fashion over style. But lately, style has been winning out! It could be an age thing; a stay-at-home mom thing; or just simply an "I know who I am now" thing.
According to local designer Mary Ann Vaccaro, the "I know who I am thing" is a good thing! Vaccaro says before you invest a lot in this season's "hottest trends, "know who you are." She says real style is "about you."
Some of us do know what looks good on us but many of us don't. Her business has taken a turn too. She's now focused on helping men and women create a “real image" - a style that incorporates fashion but one that doesn't need several credit cards.
Vaccaro, a once haute couture designer, is seeing a lasting trend style. It's individual. It's all about character. Not opulence.
