Ties That Bind

What would Father's Day be without the perennial tie? I think
my Dad ...no I know ...my Dad recieved hundreds over the years
from me especially on Father's Day. He's no longer here (passed away two years ago)...but everytime I walk through the men's section department stores, my eyes focus on ties. Pink ties were his favorites!
They were given with love and recieved with love. My brother Peter had his ties made into a quilt for my Mom after his death.
In honor of my Dad on this Father's Day, I would like to share a few memories of him. My Dad lived his life according to the
great commandment...that we love one another.
One of my favorite memories of him was when I was about nine years old. I would often wake up from nightmares to be comforted by my Dad. I would sit in his lap in a rocking chair as he either sang to me or told me how much he loved me. Then he would say...think of how much I love you... then imagine....God loves you a million times more
than that. With that...I would go fast asleep.
My Dad was my hero. Here's hoping you and your Dad have
