Omaha Steaks plans to sponsor five scholarships for students interested in studying culinary arts, and one of those scholarships will be reserved for a local student.
The company says the scholarships will be offered through the James Beard Foundation, which already offers encouragement to people interested in culinary arts careers.
One of the scholarships will be designated for a student at Omaha's Metropolitan Community College's culinary arts program.
