A burglary suspect is a little banged up after allegedly breaking into backyard storage sheds near Mockingbird Heights Park. His arrest provides a good warning for homeowners who have property that backs up to a public park.
Omaha Police don't think William Schmidt was working alone. He was arrested following a short foot pursuit near the park. Police believe at least one other suspect got away. It's believed that Schmidt and the other suspect(s) were looking to steal power tools and lawn care equipment from storage sheds.
