Police Investigate Robberies

Omaha police are investigating two separate robberies. The first was reported about 2:30pm Thursday. An employee of Unique Gifts and Dart Supplies at 6209 Ames told police that a man entered the business, showed a gun, and demanded money. He fled the store on foot with the cash.

CB Shooting Case Takes Strange Twist

On April 13th Robert Hashberger of Council Bluffs shot and killed 41-year-old John Rodarte. When police arrived at the scene Hashberger made no attempt to run and still had the weapon. Initial charges were dropped but now the case has taken a new turn.

Flood Detours: Driving On Unfamiliar Roadways

Trying to get from here to there is more difficult than most summers because of detours caused by flooding. One major detour locally is Interstate 29 outside of Council Bluffs. The interstate has been closed for several weeks. That puts drivers on unfamiliar roads and that could lead to trouble.

Iowa Congressman Okay After Home Invasion

An Iowa congressman says a gunman entered his home Saturday night and attacked his daughter. Leonard Boswell says he tried to fight the man off and, as they scuffled, his 22-year old grandson got a shotgun. His grandson pointed the gun at the intruder who then ran.
