Beatrice Six Can’t Sue

A federal judge has dismissed wrongful-conviction lawsuits filed by four members of the so-called Beatrice Six against Gage County authorities. U.S. District Judge Richard Kopf says in a 178-page ruling that authorities did not violate the constitutional rights of those wrongfully convicted in the 1985 murder of Helen Wilson.

The Nebraska State Patrol has nabbed another drug runner using the I-80 drug pipeline. The suspect is in the United States illegally, from Switzerland. Wili E. Wirz is jailed in the Lancaster County Jail on a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

Roommates Argue – One Stabs the Other

Lincoln police say two roommates had a disagreement over their living arrangements. Things escalated to the point that one began stabbing the other. The two live at 3320 L Street. Police say 48-year old Daniel Bousek stabbed his 57-year old roommate who was left with lacerations to his face and a stab wound to an arm.

Army Veteran Honored For Accident Rescue

An army veteran has been honored with the highest award for valor that a soldier can earn for an act outside of combat. Scott Shigley, who retired as a Sergeant First Class, received the soldier's medal in a ceremony at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
