A Papillion woman faces felony child abuse and third offense drunk driving charges for being out on the town while her 3-year-old slept home alone.
Chief Deputy Sarpy County Attorney Tricia Freeman tells WOWT 6 News police stopped 25-year-old Desiree Jahn shortly before midnight Friday for suspected drunk driving. She tested more than twice the legal limit. Freeman says Jahn told officers, “I have to get home.”
It's believed Jahn had been at a local lounge. When police went to her residence, they found the door unlocked and a boy sleeping in a back bedroom.
The child’s grandparents had come to the residence as well. It’s believed the boy had been left in the care of relatives.
Bond was set at 10 percent of $25,000. Jahn is due back in court on September 15th.
