Accident involves young driver and passenger. The Cassgram reports volunteers responded with sheriff’s deputies to a one-vehicle accident late yesterday afternoon -- It happened on 144th Street approximately 1/4 mile north of Hwy. 1.
The driver was Madison Jordan, age 16, Omaha, who was northbound in a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt, said Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann. Jordan lost control and the vehicle swerved twice in the road, before going off the west side. The vehicle struck an embankment and rolled. The driver and her 10-year-old brother exited the vehicle on their own power and a passing motorist gave them a ride to a nearby residence.
Both were transported by their mother to Children's Hospital in Omaha with undetermined injuries. No charges are pending. Seat belt use is not known. The accident is still under investigation.
