"You drink, you drive, you lose" is a campaign effort in La Vista to catch drivers who have been drinking or have been doing drugs.
A Channel 6 News crew spent Sunday evening with Officer Hardesty, finding out how the department tracks down impaired drivers. Thanks to a grant, there are more patrols on the street. However, Officer Hardesty explained why making an arrest requires training beyond catching people breaking basic traffic laws.
"I didn't notice any indication from his eyes. I didn't notice any odors. So, because of my training and experience, I would say he is not under the influence."
He hopes the campaign educates drivers.
