A man who tried to rob an Omaha drugstore Sunday morning but fled when an employee said she couldn't open the cash register, was caught by police several blocks away.
The suspected entered the Walgreens at South 90th Street and West Center Road, claimed to have a gun and demanded money. After being told the register couldn't be opened, the man left empty-handed.
Officers spotted 28-year-old Ricky Malik driving on 114th Street and pulled him over. He was taken into custody and booked for attempted robbery.
