Workplace safety was front and center in La Vista Wednesday at the 31st annual Safety and Health Summit.
With items on display ranging from a noise thermometer to devices that detect what's in the air, all sorts of products were available for review.
There were also a number of break-out sessions where metro companies could learn about best practices when it comes to having a successful business.
Beverly Reicks, with the National Safety Council of Nebraska, said, "We are addressing issues from workplace violence to workplace safety protections and falls. We have people here who have been doing it for years and some who are just donning the hat and taking on the safety responsibilities."
More speakers were scheduled to take the stage Thursday at the La Vista Convention Center. The agenda includes a session on preparing for and responding to an active shooter.
