Woman Faces Several Charges After Chase

Angela McKinley was booked for Theft, Possession of a short barrel shotgun, Felon in Possession of a Weapon, and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident.

According to police reports, officers on patrol located a stolen White 1991 Honda Accord near 24th & Leavenworth around 2:00 Friday morning.

Officers followed the Honda as it wound its way toward South Omaha. The driver eventually ended up turning into an alley
between J and I St.

As officers followed the car, it sped up and as the car exited the alley it crashed into a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse near 25th and I St.

Police established a perimeter and the driver, Angela McKinley was arrested. A second person in the vehicle evaded officers.

Inside the car, officers found a stolen loaded 12 gauge short-barrel shotgun between the front seats.

McKinley was booked for Theft by Unlawful Taking, Possession of a Prohibited Item (Short Barrel Shotgun), Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, and Fugitive from Justice.

McKinley recently walked away from a work release program and had a warrant out for her arrest.

A second woman that also walked away from the work release program is still being sought and has an arrest warrant of file.
