Woman Turns Herself In On Charges Of Embezzling $4 Million

An Omaha woman turned herself in on Friday morning and will appear before a judge on theft charges in the afternoon. She allegedly stole $4M from her employer.

Fifty-four-year-old Caroline Richardson faces three felony counts of theft for allegedly embezzling $4 million from Colombo Candy & Tobacco Wholesale.

With the help of the Nebraska State Patrol and Sarpy County investigators, County Attorney Don Kleine says he will be able to move forward with the charges against Richardson, he said the money was allegedly used to fuel her gambling addiction.

Richardson was released on her own recognizance after appearing before a judge on Friday.
