Omaha Police are searching for suspects after a woman was shot several times Monday night. The woman said she was sitting in her house when she heard shots and realized she had been hit.
Reports of "shots fired" sent officers to 44th & Laurel around 7:15. Police found 54-year-old Virginia Shaw suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Paramedics transported Shaw to Creighton University Medical Center in critical condition. Police say her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The shooting was the third in Omaha Monday. Omaha Police Lt. Matthew Lippold says officers don't know if they are connected, but they are investigating.
"We’ll have extra patrols on the streets tonight. We need the violence to stop," says Lippold.
