An Omaha woman moved into a new apartment just over a month ago and since she's been finding millipedes in her carpet. Now the tenant is frustrated by her landlord's reaction.
“Something in the pad, something under the carpet, I don't know why they would just keep appearing,” said Pam Hill.
She is talking about the millipedes she keeps finding in her apartment.
“They were just laying the carpet. Rolled up,” said Hill. “They pulled the carpet up in front of my back door and said we don't see anything.”
She says she complained to her apartment office, The Biltmore, and they've sent someone over twice to spray for bugs.
“I don't know where they'd be coming from and this is where they are going to spray back here where the mulch is,” said Hill.
But it isn’t helping, on Tuesday night she found three more millipedes crawling in her carpet. She thinks they aren’t coming in through windows or doors. That’s because she's finding them right front of her TV, the entrance to her bathroom and her bedroom.
“I find it hard that they are traveling that far, underneath the carpet pad and then coming up from the carpet,” said Hill.
And she feels like the apartment complex, owned by Richdale, hasn't done enough to fix the problem.
“It’s disgusting because I’m carrying a baggie around me,” said Hill.
She is getting sick of finding the crawling creatures in her home.
“I had to suggest to them that they come and pull all the carpet back and look to see. Maybe there's nest underneath here. Since that's where they are showing up,” said Hill.
And that’s exactly what they plan to due. She says a crew is scheduled to pull up the carpet in her apartment on Thursday.
The corporate office had no comment on the issues because they say it has been resolved.
Hill hopes pulling up the carpet will discoverer the source of the problem.
