A 60-year-old Lincoln woman awoke Thursday morning to what she thought was her husband in the kitchen, only to find a stranger going through her refrigerator.
Police say it happened near the 300 block of South 28th Street around 1:45 a.m. The woman told officers she heard a noise in the kitchen and thought her husband was getting something to eat. After getting up to see what was going on she encountered an intruder going through the refrigerator.
The man, described as 40-50 years old, 6-foot-1 and 135 pounds, ran off with milk and a bag of items. He also took a credit card case containing the woman's driver's license and credit cards. Police believe the man entered through an unlocked door.
