An Omaha woman charged with biting a police officer was sentenced in Douglas County Court Thursday.
Jatarah Minor bit officer Don Lucero on the leg back in December when she didn't think her son was getting proper care at a hospital.
Minor's attorney told the court she was concerned her young child was choking. Lucero and a security officer tried to calm her down but she bit the officer drawing blood.
Prosecution accepted a plea where she was convicted of obstruction...a misdemeanor, instead of 3rd degree assault on an officer...a felony.
Minor was asked to write a letter of apology to everyone in the emergency room that night.
Judge Gary Randall said Minor's emotional issues did not give her the right to act in such a fashion.
Minor received two days in jail, a $300 fine and court costs of $156.
