The U.S. Attorney's Office says 33-year-old John Mass and 27-year-old Sarah Penney went to a Council Bluffs, Iowa, residence on March 27 and assaulted an informant at gunpoint and threatened his roommate and girlfriend.
The pair was indicted in U.S. District Court in Omaha for threatening a witness with a gun and being felons in possession of weapons. They could face 47 years or more in prison if convicted.
Mass and Penney are being held in the Douglas County jail. Messages left Thursday for their attorneys weren't immediately returned.
