Winter Bike Commuting Clinic

It's time to bring out those mittens and coats, the cold weather has finally arrived.

For some people, the cold weather isn’t stopping them from using a bike to commute around

Activate Omaha, Omaha bikes, and "UNO Bikes" put on a clinic Sunday to teach riders how to do it safely during the winter months.

One panelist, Angie Eikenberry, has been braving the cold for three years. She says her bicycle makes those gloomy days much more bearable.

“The first season I started riding in the winter it was a completely different winter. It was a completely different place that I lived in because its fun actually riding in the winter.”+

Eikenberry says if you do choose to ride in the winter make sure you have a reflective vest, good lights on your bike, and studs on your tires to help during those icy days.
