Wildfires have been plaguing the area where Nebraska, Wyoming, and South Dakota meet for several weeks. On Wednesday, a new fire estimated to be about 75 acres crossed the South Dakota state line into Wyoming.
The fire is said to be 10% contained. It was about 15 miles south of Newcastle, Wyoming.
The cause is under investigation.
Firefighters reported a successful day of fireline construction and securing a fireline perimeter Wednesday.
Resources include state, local, and volunteer fire departments as well as the federal Bureau of Land Management.
