A driver walked away from a startling crash in west Omaha early Friday morning.
Just after 1:45 a.m., the driver of a white SUV lost control of his vehicle in the westbound lanes near 140th and West Center Road, crossed the median, crossed the eastbound lanes and drove down a hill. The car ended up slamming into a large pole at the bottom, leaving the SUV with significant damage.
Police told WOWT 6 News the driver suffered some scrapes and bruises but didn't need to go to the hospital. That man was taken into police custody overnight to be tested for possible DUI.
