Less than two inches of snow fell in Omaha overnight and most of that had been scraped from the major roadways and Interstates by this morning's commute. So what led to a series of crashes and a snarled morning rush?
Police say there were still some slick spots and the clear pavement might have provided a false sense of security for drivers.
A series of crashes backed up eastbound traffic along Interstate 80 from the 42nd Street exit all the way back to Q St and beyond.
The biggest snags (see attached video) were the four car pile-up near 42nd and another mutli-car crash at on-ramp to eastbound I-80 at 60th Street.
