Why Hotel Rates Are Likely Heading UP

If you are planning on taking a family vacation this summer you might want to consider locking in the lowest rate you can find right now. Industry experts expect prices to rise and there's a reason for it.

Federal agencies are cutting back on nonessential travel and that cut to business is being seen in hotels across the country.

Travel by Federal employees accounts for at least 30% of hotel business.
Travel officials worry that they'll have to lay off hotel workers as a result.

They also worry that this will drive hotel prices up for other consumers as we book rooms for our vacations.
