Oil production climbed to its highest level in 20 years thanks to new drilling techniques and hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking, which boosted exploration across the country, a sign the U.S. is moving closer to the goal of energy independence.

Stocks ended the day mixed and little changed as investors continue to watch those corporate earnings.

Get ready to pay more for your Super Bowl feast. Chicken wing prices rose to another record Wednesday, but Koch Foods says that won't dent demand. It expects consumers to buy them up through and even after the Super Bowl.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says by next year you will be able to enjoy the Jersey shore again. He says it should be fully restored by then. That’s good news for the state as shore tourism is the backbone of New Jersey's $38 billion leisure and hospitality industry.
