Shares of the company are getting a lift after one Wall Street analyst said it's showing signs of success in the push to make money from mobile users. In the broader market, stocks rose as a jump in housing starts overshadowed disappointing results from IBM and Intel.
Meantime, Microsoft may have sold out of the initial run of the $499 version of its surface tablet. The device was offered Tuesday for a limited number of early orders ahead of the October 26th release, but now Microsoft's orders site has gone from guaranteeing the model for delivery by that day to requesting customers order now "for shipment within three weeks.”
Coca-Cola is teaming up with French drug maker Sanofi to sell health drinks at French pharmacies, a pilot project to test demand for beverages with beauty claims. The Beautific beverages will be available within months. The product is designed to appeal to active urban women between the ages of 25 and 45.
