A band of heavy snow developed late Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, dumping roughly three to five inches across the metro.
Glenwood and Nebraska City measured the most with six inches. Lincoln came in second with five inches. As expected, northwest of the metro, amounts were significantly lower with only one inch reported in Fremont.
Measuring snowfall amounts in blustery conditions is difficult. The wind creates drifts and shallow points, especially near structures. If you are going to measure the snow, take several measurements away from buildings and average them.
