Friday was hot but the rain was gone and a Chamber crew was finally able to add a We Don’t Coast tattoo to Turner Park.
The project was delayed Thursday, putting a damper on plans to have it ready for Jazz on the Green but blue skies prevailed to wrap up the week and the slogan is in place.
Now, what does it mean? It still has some people scratching their heads but Midtown Crossing’s Molly Skold offered us her opinion.
She said, “We don't pretend that we are on the coast. We don't have a mountain and we don't have beaches but we are in the center of the country and that is a good thing. And secondly, we don't coast, we work hard, we try hard, we play hard."
Skold also explained that the symbol moves in an upward slope to symbolize that the city is always moving up.
