A 24-year-old Waterloo, Iowa woman has been arrested after her 9-month-old son was found inside a hot, stuffy car that was left unlocked on the wrong side of the street.

A police officer noticed the car and then the child about noon on Wednesday. The boy had been in the car for about 30 minutes. He was conscious but sweaty when he was taken to a hospital.

Officers found the mother, Shawna Bailey, inside a nearby apartment building. She's been charged with child endangerment.
