A water main break under 42nd street had Wednesday rush hour commuters taking a morning detour.
The break occurred under 42nd Street somewhere between Frances and Marinda. 42nd street had to be closed while Metropolitan Utilities District crews located and repaired the break.
Mark Doyle of MUD told channel six news that breaks that occur on downhill streets can be more difficult to locate but expects to have traffic moving on 42nd street by later Wednesday afternoon. A check early Wednesday afternoon showed 42nd street was again open with two lanes of traffic moving.
