Water Trouble Cancels Red Oak Middle School Classes

Tuesday classes have been canceled at Red Oak Middle School due to a problem with a water valve.

The valve opened sometime between Saturday and Sunday flooding the second floor of Red Oak Middle School and creating additional damage on the first floor.

Clean up and restoration is underway now but classes for middle school students in Red Oak Community School District are called off for Tuesday, September 2.

Classes will be conducted on a normal schedule at Webster Early Childhood Center, Inman Primary School, Washington Intermediate, and Red Oak High School.

Officials don’t know what caused the valve to open.

The district hopes to provide an update on the status of Wednesday classes by 3 p.m. Tuesday.
