If you’ve had a chance to get out and take advantage of the warmer weather, you’ve probably noticed how brown things are.
The people who grow grass and mow lawns for a living say we are behind as far as moisture goes on our lawns so far this year and the best thing you can do is put water on those brown, dry yards right now.
John Penton with Penton Lawn and Landscape said, “If you can apply water now, um. it'd be ideal. We are forecast to get some rain but we've seen what Mother Nature does and it doesn't always pan out, so... If we can have customers and people start putting on water via sprinkler systems, if they know how to winterize their sprinkler system to drain the backflow in case it gets below freezing, they could use their existing sprinkler system."
Penton says getting any type of water on lawns right now would be beneficial.
