Water Rescue on Missouri River

Three people ended up in the Missouri River after a crane accident Tuesday morning.

Officials told Channel 6 News the crane slipped and tipped over into the water. Two men who were working were thrown about 100 feet in the air and into the water. Both were able to get out on their own.

The crane operator was also thrown into the water, but was trapped. First responders were able to rescue the man. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. The other two workers refused treatment.

The incident occurred on La Platte Road and the Missouri River where crews are working on the new Highway 34 bridge.
