A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for areas west of Omaha until 11 p.m.; however, the metro area will likely have thunderstorms on and off throughout the overnight.
A Council Bluffs neighborhood had an icy mess to deal with Sunday morning when a water main ruptured.
The standing water near the intersection of Gleason Avenue and Frank Street quickly became slush, then a layer of ice because of the cold temperature.
Crews channeled much of the running water into a nearby sewer and spread a mixture of salt and sand on the ice.
No word yet on how many homes were impacted by the break.
