Man arrested on local warrants. The Cass County Sheriff’s Department and Plattsmouth Police investigators booked Dakota Mooney, age 21, of Plattsmouth on Thursday night.
The Cassgram reports Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann advised that two felony warrants were served (theft by receiving and violation of probation) after receiving a tip on Mooney’s location. Through a joint effort of the two departments Mooney was located at an apartment in Plattsmouth and taken into custody without incident.
Brueggemann said Mooney is also under investigation by the Bellevue Police Department and Omaha Police Department for multiple incidents of theft and fraudulent use of financial devices.
In Cass County, Mooney was on probation for theft by unlawful taking, a Class IV Felony. He was caught in Plattsmouth in a car stolen at the Cass County Fairgrounds earlier that day in August of 2012. The county fair was going on at the time. Mooney had been in jail for 240 days before receiving the probation sentence in April. (Cassgram Archives 4/11/13)
