Tuesday night is the opening night for a big show in downtown Omaha: War Horse at the Orpheum.
We were invited down to the theater to meet some of the cast members who bring life to the horse puppet named Joey.
The woman who gets to be the back end of joey said their training goes well beyond learning how to get under there and operate the puppet.
Dayna Tietzen said, "We were visiting stables, looking at YouTube videos, studying psychology of horses, everything that you could do. That has really continued. I mean, we are pretty obsessed with horses. When we get to see horses like today, we are constantly learning and watching and finding new things we can pick up on."
The trio of puppeteers even brought Joey out to meet some real horse heroes who happen to be members of the Omaha Police Department.
War Horse Runs through Sunday.
