Lincoln, NE police say these two men walked into a Runza & tricked the cashier into giving them more change than they deserved. January 2012
Lincoln police need help identifying to men who allegedly tricked a cashier at a fast food restaurant into giving them too much money. It all started when the men walked into the Runza Restaurant at 49th and O Street.
A man, described as wearing a “goofy hoodie” over his head ordered small fries and paid his tab with a $50 bill. Police say all along, his friend distracted the cashier by hitting her up with a chat. After receiving his change, the goofy-hoodie-wearing fellow decided he wanted a cookie too with his fries.
After some fast talking and more distractions from the other man, the cashier ended up giving the customer his $50 bill back plus another $50, not to mention his cookie and fries.
Police say the confusion began when the man insisted on the cashier starting the transaction over claiming he meant to originally pay with a $20 bill rather than a $50 bill.
The incident was reported about 7:15pm January 19.
