Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman is seeking qualified applicants to replace a state lawmaker who is resigning on Nov. 1.
Sen. Scott Price of Bellevue announced last month that he was stepping down because of family demands, saying he would likely move to Alabama where his daughter lives. Price, a Republican, was first elected in 2008.
The governor's office says it will accept applications through the close of business on Nov. 22. Applicants must live within the boundaries of Legislative District 3, in Sarpy County, and must have resided there for at least one year.
The appointee would stand for election to a two-year term in November 2014.
