A tip of the hat to WOWT’s John Knicely. He became the Omaha Press Club’s 140th Face on the Barroom Floor Friday night.
For the uninitiated, that’s a good thing. The Face on the Barroom Floor is a longstanding tradition at the Omaha Press Club.
Along with the commemorative artwork presentation, the evening included a roast that played out to a packed Press Club house.
John was feted as Omaha’s most-viewed news face – a designation he’s carved into the local landscape over the course of nearly 40 years in front of the camera.
John’s son took part in the roasting duties as did former Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey and Nebraska football icon Tom Osborne.
Knicely done John.
