It was the normal routine for Sam Senser on Thursday at Louisville High School.
When WOWT6 News caught up with Sam, he was in front of the classroom working with his teacher on a laptop.
When our camera came in unannounced straight to Sam, he had an idea that it might have to do with a scholarship.
Sam is one of two WOWT6 Omaha broadcast scholarship winners. He, and MacKenzie McGlynn of Millard West (announced earlier), each win a $1000 scholarship to the college of their choice.
Sam teamed with his younger brother Wrenn and schoolmate Jacob Bruce to produce a video that underscores the dangers of texting while driving.
Their creative idea featured two deer behind the wheel and a close call with pedestrians who were crossing the road.
Sam's goal is to study film in college and one day produce movies that would be shown in theaters.
He plans to continue his education at Metro Community College in Elkhorn.
