Two fires keep volunteers busy. One fire brought fire departments from Plattsmouth, Murray and Offutt Air Force Base to the scene near Plattsmouth.
Plattsmouth units had first been at 17213 Webster Boulevard just before 4pm yesterday. There was a small attic fire in a 30 x 50 building caused when a flue pipe dropped. Damage to the structure was minimal at that time.
Plattsmouth was joined by the other two departments when another call at the location was received at 11pm last night. Units were on scene about three hours. Plattsmouth First Assistant Fire Chief Bill Dudek said the fire rekindled and the building and its contents were a total loss. The wind, cold and getting water to the structure were factors in fighting the fire.
The Eagle fire department was called to a structure fire on 214th Street about 7:30am today. A mutual aid call was made to the Elmwood fire department.
