Monday brought a big night for more than 400 Korean War veterans as they prepared to take an honor flight Tuesday morning.
They gathered for a night of food and socializing at Omaha’s Ramada Inn. Tuesday brings the flight to Washington D.C.
One of the plane's captains, Rick Wimer, said the veterans are very excited.
He said, “They were so excited that they wanted to go. Their bags are packed, their shirts are on and they just want to get here and get it done with.”
You have a chance to show your support. There is a special homecoming planned at the airport Tuesday at 10 p.m. Anyone can come out and cheer them on.
