While Veterans Day was officially Sunday, those who've served the country continue to be honored Monday.

Government offices are closed in observance of the holiday. However, trash service in the city of Omaha will run as usual this week.

Monday, a number of restaurants and businesses continue to offer freebies and discounts for military members - past and present. Hy-Vee grocery stores are offering free breakfast. The 180th and Pacific location will feature the Elkhorn Ridge Bravo Show Choir in a patriotic performance at 9 a.m.

Hickory Hill Elementary School in Papillion invites veterans, active duty military and reservists out for an 8:15 a.m. assembly. Other schools plan to have morning flag pole ceremonies.

And the Kroc Center is also offering free admission Monday for military members and their immediate family.
