Charges are pending after a vehicle hits a building.
At 9:17pm Saturday, officers form the Plattsmouth Police Department along with the Plattsmouth Volunteer Fire Department, Plattsmouth EMS and the Cass County Sheriff’s Department responded to the Dollar General Store in Plattsmouth after a one-vehicle injury accident. Upon arrival it was found the vehicle involved had struck the Dollar General building causing extensive damage to both the vehicle and the building. The driver, 48-year-old Diane Brink of Syracuse, had to be freed from the vehicle using the Jaws of Life, said Plattsmouth Police Chief Steve Rathman.
She was transported to Creighton University Medical Center by Plattsmouth EMS for treatment of non-life threatening injuries sustained in the crash.
The Plattsmouth Police Department is investigating the accident and has referred the case to the Cass County Attorney’s Office for prosecution on the charge of willful reckless driving. The investigation into this incident is ongoing and additional charges may be requested, said Rathman.
