Facing up to 140 years in prison for a string of sexual assaults, Anthony Vaughn has filed a request to withdraw his No Contest plea.
That plea grew out of a deal with prosecutors
Vaughn had been accused of sexually assaulting five women in a case dating back to 1999. He faced five counts of First Degree Sexual Assault.
In a last-minute deal, he entered a plea of No Contest to two of those counts, one count of attempted assault and a weapons charge. In exchange, two other charges were dropped.
He has now filed a request to withdraw his plea, claiming ineffective counsel.
A judge will decide what to do with the request.
