A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for central Johnson, northwestern Nemaha, southern Otoe and northeastern Pawnee counties in Nebraska until 3:15 p.m. Sunday. A tornado watch is in effect for parts of southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa until 10 p.m. Sunday.
Just after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, firefighters responded to a vacant house fire near 16th & Laird.
Crews at the scene say the fire started near the back of the house on a deck and spread.
Everything was under control within 10 minutes and no one was hurt.
Investigators are calling the cause of this fire "suspicious." They ask anyone with information to call the arson hotline at 444-4374.
