Omaha fire investigators are looking for help in finding whoever set fire to a vacant home.
Fire crews called to the house near 26th and Spencer around 12:15 a.m. Thursday found flames shooting from all the windows and doors of the home, helped by strong winds.
"It was difficult to put out," said Omaha Fire Battalion Chief John McCormick. "It was hard to gain access to the house. It was all boarded up and it was locked. It was pretty secured, so it was hard to gain entry to the house."
The fire was declared under control a little more than a half-hour later. The home was heavily damaged. No one was reported hurt.
A witness saw someone fleeing the scene after hearing a "boom" and breaking glass. Anyone with information about the blaze is asked to call the Arson Hotline at 402-444-FIRE.
