Friday, Police released the name of the man injured in a shooting Thursday afternoon. The victim said he was driving, when someone drove by and fired a gun at him while he was in his car.
The victim, 41-year-old Jerry Major, was pulling into the 99 Cents and More store parking lot at 42nd and Redman, when he saw two men in gray hoodies approach a brown Ford Taurus parked in front of the building and shoot at the occupants.
Major was shot in his right leg when a stray bullet pierced the passenger side door of his car.
It’s unknown if anyone in the Taurus, which fled, was shot, but local ER’s were notified. Major was taken to CUMC in an ambulance for treatment.
