A 21-year-old Lincoln man sought by police for a recent murder has been arrested in Texas.

Lancaster County Sheriff's Department Capt. Gary Juilfs said Wednesday that Adrian Casares was arrested Tuesday evening at a private residence by the members of the Line Star Fugitive Task Force in San Antonio.

Texas authorities found Casares in the company of 26-year-old Tiffany Zerley, who is wanted in Lancaster County for a felony shoplifting warrant. Arrangements are being made for Casarers and Zerley to be extradited back to Lancaster County.

Casares already has been charged with terroristic threats and use of a firearm for an incident on December 29th. Investigators say Casares threatened 25-year-old Tyler Schoenrock, whose body was found December 30th in a rural area north of Lincoln. Police say Schoenrock was shot multiple times at North 1st Street between West Bluff Road and West Waverly Road.

Another man, 23-year-old Miguel Castillo of Lincoln, has been charged as an accessory to a felony.

Court documents reveal a witness saw Castillo and Casares confront Schoenrock about being a snitch. The witness claimed Casares had a gun.

Castillo told police the three of them drove in the country and Casares stopped the vehicle and got out with Schoenrock. Castillo said he stayed in the vehicle, heard shots being fired and saw Schoenrock fall to the ground.

Castillo said he did not know this was going to occur, but admitted he never checked on Schoenrock, never called for medical attention and never noticed law enforcement.

Schoenrock was given three years probation in October 2009 for drug convictions. He was given two years probation in February 2006 after pleading guilty to being an accessory to a robbery.

Castillo also has a criminal record, including assault, child abuse, driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance.
