Unemployment Report South of Omaha Metro Area

Cass County unemployment report level. According to the Nebraska Workforce Development-Department of Labor report, the June 2013 (preliminary) unemployment rate in Cass County was 4.7%.

The breakdown: Cass County Civilian Labor Force 13,932; Number Employed 13,274; Not Employed 658

The Cassgram reports Cass County’s June rate was four-tenths of a percentage point higher than May’s (revised) rate. (The rate was at 4.6% in April, 4.9% in March and 5.2% in February.)

The county unemployment was also at 4.7% in June of 2012.

The June 2013 rates from neighboring counties with the change from a year earlier in [ ]: Otoe 4.8% [+0.5], Lancaster 4.0% [+0.1], Saunders 4.4% [+0.2] and Sarpy 4.4% [+0.1].

Nebraska’s preliminary unemployment rate for June was 4.0%, up two-tenths of a percentage point from May. The June 2012 state unemployment rate was 4.0%.

The national unemployment rate in June was 7.6%, unchanged from May. The June 2012 national unemployment rate was 8.2%.

The rates reflect only those actively looking for jobs.
